In the first half of this year, over 3 million small- and
medium-sized enterprises were registered, while the number of
individual businesses amounted to 23 million, accounting for more than
99 percent of the total.

Currently, small- and medium-sized enterprises contribute 55 percent of China's products and services.
They also provide the most job opportunities, with three quarters of the urban population working in these enterprises.
Additionally, they boast the most creative power. Small- and medium-
sized businesses own 65 percent of patented technologies, while 80 new
products have been developed by them.
