使用show datebases为什么出错？？？

请问？
我的mysql安装完后，输入命令show datebases为什么会出现错误。。。。。
请高手给予指教？？？？？？？

mysql> show datebases;
ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'dateb
ases' at line 1
mysql>

是show databases； 不是show datebases；
